How to Increase Diversity at the Bar

  • Somerset House East Wing (map)

This diversity panel (followed by our pupil drinks) is an opportunity for students to learn about the initiatives chambers are making to include students from different demographics, and a chance for students to let chambers know what factors are important for them when considering applying to the Bar.

This is the perfect opportunity to challenge the efforts made by chambers to ensure diversity and question whether the Bar is truly accessible to all.

This will be held in the Somerset House East Wing, SHEW 1.17-8 Moot Court Ante Room

During this panel event, you will hear from the following:

Ms Karon Monaghan QC - Barrister, Matrix Chambers

Mr Riaz Hussain QC - Barrister, Atkin Chambers
Judging panelist for the UK Diversity Legal Awards.

Mr Sailesh Mehta - Barrister, Red Lion Chambers
Judging panelist for the UK Diversity Legal Awards

Mr Benjamin Burns - Education Policy Analyst, Bar Council

Mr Amit Popat - Head of Equality and Access to Justice, Bar Standards Board

Chairing the event will be Ms Karen Odidika.
