An Evening With A Judge

The structure of this event will involve an interview session with Sir Christopher John Butcher wherein a host will ask him about his journey to the Bar, his experience being on the Competition Appeal Tribunal and Adminstrative Court and his life as a High Court Judge. The event will proceed with a Q&A session with the audience. The event will conclude after a brief networking session. Tea and coffee will be served.

KCLBMS is collaborating with KCL BAME In The City to launch our Social Mobility and Funding at the Bar Panel! At this event, we intend to host a panel discussion which will touch upon a variety of topics such as, each panelist’s personal journey to the Bar, any unique challenges they may have faced in accessing the Bar, why social mobility should remain a priority, career advice relating to funding the Bar (including advice on pupillages, work experience, mini-pupillages, and the BPTC), and any other topics regarding increasing diversity, equality, and inclusion at the Bar.
